Weird War with Attention Span Labs!

WW2 desert wargaming table with a UFO in the center and army troops surrounding it.

I will be hosting two Weird World War II games at the Fall In! wargames convention in Lancaster, PA next month, and I hope you will join me. The games are marked as having slots for four players, but I’ll do my best to make room for everyone who wants to play.

Little Grun Men: Roswell, 1947
Friday November 3, 5:00 PM, 4 hrs, Players: 4, Location: Heritage: HG-5
Period: Weird War, Scale: 28mm, Rules: Konflikt ’47 with modifications
Description: The daring air raids launched from their hidden base in the
Valley of Gwangi in northern Mexico have avenged Germanys losses in
Pellucidar and left the US reeling. But a damaged Haunebu II flying saucer
has crashed in Roswell, New Mexico. Now, both belligerents race to
recover the Vril-powered wunderwaffe. The results of this game will have
consequences on the Valley of Death: Assault on Gwangi game. Play both
sides or think of it as a campaign! Knowledge of Bolt Action/K47 rules
helpful, but not required. Children welcome with parents

Valley of Death: Assault on Gwangi
Saturday, November 4, 10:00 AM, 4 hrs, Players: 4, Location: Heritage: HG-3
Period: Weird War, Scale: 28mm, Rules: Konflikt ’47 with modifications
Description: The US has located the German base in the hidden valley of
Gwangi! Unfortunately, the rugged highlands are all but impassable to
heavy equipment. Forced to travel on foot without tank or artillery
support, the American infantry are in danger of being wiped out by the
dug-in Germans, not to mention ambushing dinosaurs and sabretooth
cats. Now the brass decides to deploy their own wonder weapon,
codenamed His Royal Highness, to rescue the airborne and turn the table
on the Krauts. But can even these powerful reinforcements defeat flying
saucers, werewolf guerillas, and dreaded Kriegersaurus Konig? This
mission directly follows and will be impacted by the Little Grun Men:
Roswell, 1947 game. Play both sides or think of it as a campaign!
Knowledge of Bolt Action/K47 rules is helpful, but not necessary. Children
welcome with their parents.

This past Saturday night, I ran a playtest of the first scenario (you can see the battlefield above) with three other players, all of whom provided great feedback to improve the scenario. I hope to do two playtests for each scenario, as I did for the Pellucidar game I ran back in March, so I won’t be making any Xiandao battle reports until after the con.
