More Wilderness Fort

This week I’ve been working on my fort some more. Not much to update.

Though I will say, I was right. The walls are a pain to print (see last week’s entry). The longer walls all mostly made it. The short walls were trash. Someone who is a better 3d printer than me, might be able to make them work. I gave up.

Turns out I have no idea how they fit anyways. I still like my fort, but I can’t say I would recommend it to anyone who is serious about the looks of their terrain. For, I think, the $10 I paid for the files, they aren’t terrible. And they will work for what I need them to do anyways. I do think they could use a little more instruction and foresight. As they say, caveat emptor.

After looking at the pictures again, maybe I need 2 long walls for each side. I might try that for next week.

In other news, I’ve been printing some some Buried Dragon Bones Set. I do like this set. And now that I have printed 3 of the 5, I can safely say they turned out pretty nice. I think a really good painter could really have some fun with these. Me, I just base coated them with spray paint, and picked out the bones with some Bone White I had from some set I got for Christmas a few years ago. More terrain for A War Transformed. I should really, really get this game on the table. Maybe one day, I’ll have another force besides my Germans to fight against.
It’s a lot of models, and I’m really enjoying looking through my collection for things to use in it.

It’s too cold to use to my resin printer right now, so I’m on hold with printing new armies. I’ve got a huge pile of shame anyways to work on.

Maybe next week, I’ll have a review of my various German forces for Bolt Action and A War Transformed.

  1. A friend of mine donates all his extra chopsticks to me, so – log cabin, right? But I haven’t figured out how to do the corners without actually scribing all the chopsticks like I’m building a real log cabin.

Doing it for something as big as your fort would be a nightmare, so I can see the appeal of printing it. Good luck!
